2008 Hawkeye Hockey Prospect Camp
Head Coach Nick White announced the scheduling of the 1st Annual “Hawkeye Hockey Prospect Camp” for all
interested parties, including all incoming students, current University of Iowa Students, players not yet committed or
accepted to the University, returning rostered players and all other prospective players.
The purpose of this camp will be to give all participants a chance to see what Hawkeye Hockey is all about and
assess their own abilities versus returning rostered players and other camp attendees. “This is a great chance for
me to get a sense of the talent level of incoming players and pre-evaluate players wanting to attend the University
and play in the program”, explained White. Whitey also added, “If you are seriously considering attending the
University of Iowa and trying out for Hawkeye Hockey this is an absolute must attend weekend”.
Camp will be divided into two separate sections. A skills section will be the first portion, for Coach White to
evaluate basic hockey skills, including passing, skating, shooting and strength and conditioning. A controlled game
scrimmage portion of two equally divided teams for Whitey to determine team play and overall on-ice presence will
conclude the camp.
Player space will be limited 46 Total Participants with a specific breakdown as follows: 16 defenseman -
24 forwards - 6 goaltenders
The camp is scheduled for Saturday April 26th, 2008. A total of 3-1/2 hours of ice time in two sessions will be
available. Costs will range from $30.00-$65.00 per player. Specific details will be finalized in the coming weeks
and posted here on our website. Keep checking back for the latest news on the camp.
