Coaching Search Ends Where it Began
On March 9th, 2006 the University of Iowa Hockey announced that Head Coach Kevin Harter
would be returning to the team in a different and likely reduced role for the 2006-07 season.
However, the role has not been reduced and there may not be many differences as the
IceHawks are proud to announce that Harter will once again be behind the bench for the
Hawks as their head...

Hawks Release 2006-07 Schedule
The University of Iowa hockey team released the 2006-07 season schedule today. The
Hawkeyes were voted into the MACHA's top tier and will play a schedule filled with nationally
ranked opponents such as Grand Valley State, Missouri State, University of Missouri,
Southern Illinois University, and Ferris State. The Hawks will once again play Iowa State
Division 1 as well as traditional rivals such as Eastern Illinois and Northwestern.
The lack of familiar faces on the 2007 IceHawks might lead some to question whether the
Hawks will be able to handle the toughest schedule the Hawkeyes have ever faced. The
Hawks lost a staggering eleven players from the 2005-06 team that finished with the best
conference record in IceHawk history. However, the Hawks are confident that they will be able
to compete and more, as they...

New Faces Abound on 2007 IceHawks
The Iowa IceHawks opened their first game of the season just the way they wanted to, by
bursting to a 4-1 first period lead over the Palmer College Dragons. However it was mostly
downhill from there. The Hawkeyes added to their lead in the second period as they
outscored Palmer by the score of 2-1 on goals by Sean McCarthy and Tyler Schultz. The
third period is where the...

14-7-1 and a conference record of 10-3-1. The Hawks currently sit at the bottom of the
MACHA standings with a 0-6 conference record. The IceHawks also find themselves on the
wrong side of...

Hawks Look to Right Ship vs. Marquette
By Ryan Young - The Daily Iowan
Over the last five years, the IceHawks have gotten used to opening their season with a
number of key wins. But after promoted from the Silver Division to the Gold this season, the
team has found itself a small fish in a much larger frozen pond. Traditionally using their size
and skill advantages to smoothly...

Trying to Ice the Season
The first major snowstorm of the 06-07 winter forced a plane off a runway at Chicago's O'Hare
International Airport, canceled hundreds of flights, and shuttered schools and businesses
across the Midwest on Friday. It also caused the McKendree College Bearcats to cancel their
trip to Iowa City to take on the Iowa Hockey team. The Hawkeyes were scheduled to play ...

Major Snowstorm Causes McKendree to Cancel
The Iowa Hawkeyes headed to Springfield, Missouri last weekend to take on the Missouri
State Ice Bears and needed at least one win to keep any faint MACHA Playoff hopes alive.
The Hawks arrived on Friday night with a shortened roster as quite a few players were absent
because the games took place on the eve of finals week at the University of Iowa. This...

Hawks Stumble Into Winter Break
The Iowa Hawkeyes traveled to Evanston, IL this past weekend to take on their Big Ten rival
Northwestern Wildcats. Iowa and Northwestern have been regular opponents over much of the
past decade and usually have a fairly even give-and-take series. It was not to be this season
however as the Hawks dismantled the Wildcats on their home ice. Friday night's game was the
first...

Iowa Prepares to Travel North for Tough Test
The Iowa Hawkeyes hit the ice twice this week, as they do every week, to practice for their
upcoming games. There was one significant difference this week, however. This week the
Hawks practiced in preparation for taking on the #4 and #9 ranked teams in the ACHA's
Central Division on back to back nights. The Hawkeyes will leave Iowa City at 9 AM on Friday
and head to Allendale, MI where they...

Hawkeyeshockey.com Rennovation Complete
The University of Iowa Hockey team has mostly completed renovating it's website, a process
which began over a month ago with the end of the season and caused significant delays in
the posting of news and other important items. While it may not appear much different on the
surface, the entire workings under the hood of the site have changed. Hundreds of
megabytes of outdated and defunct data...
