Prospect Camp Rocks!
The 1st Annual Hawkeye Hockey Prospect Camp was a rousing success, as Coach White put thirty-eight (38) Black
& Gold clad forwards, defenseman and goaltenders through numerous drills, small area games and a very
entertaining two hour scrimmage, that ended in a one goal difference in favor of the Gold Squad played in front of a
full house at Coral Ridge Ice Arena. All in all, an absolute great show of talent and exciting possibilities for the
program. Whitey was extremely pleased with the turnout and level of play and enthusiasm shown by all players.
Without a doubt this will be a annual event to help continue to promote the growth of the club. Players from Iowa,
Illinois, Wisconsin and Maryland showcased their skills in an effort to make an impression on Coach White and their
peers.
The twenty-five (25) roster spots that will be available for the 2008-09 season will be fiercely contested and Coach
and his evaluators will have many tough decisions to make come roster cut down time. All players who attended the
camp can e-mail Coach White at white.hws@machlink.com to get a response on their chances for making the
team come next August. If you are still undecided on whether or not you will be attending the University of Iowa and
trying out next season or still wondering if Iowa is the place for you PLEASE contact Coach for some input. This
