The second period saw Ty Henricks step up in style. He scored a brilliant goal that turned out to be the game-winner, giving WMU a strong 3-1 lead. From that point on, the Broncos held the upper hand, never allowing BU to gain serious momentum.

In the final period, Western Michigan sealed the game with three more goals. Owen Michaels scored twice—once at the start and again at the end of the third. His outstanding performance earned him the title of “Most Outstanding Player” of the tournament. Iiro Hakkarainen also added his name to the scoresheet during this dominant spell.
